Everything you have been told about zero DTE is wrong.
You do not need charts. You do not need indicators. You need one number and one setup. Here is what nobody is talking about.

Everything you have been told about zero DTE is wrong.
You have been told it means fast decisions. Sitting in front of the screen all day. Chasing every reversal. Glued to the tape.
That is intraday chaos. That is not zero DTE. That is noise.
Here is what zero DTE actually is. The biggest moves of the week happen overnight. Not during the trading day.
Position shifts, liquidity changes, futures move. By the time the open hits, the stock has already gapped two or three percent. By the time you are watching, the trade is already over.
There are no MACDs in Superfly. No Fibonacci levels. No Bollinger Bands. I got your six one eight right here.
There is one number. The expected move. It is derived from the options market itself.
It tells you the range for the week, the day, the session. It is not a prediction. It is what real capital is pricing in.
You center a butterfly at the edge of that range the night before. You risk $0.50. If the overnight pressure carries the stock to your target, the butterfly expands to $2.00 or more.
You do not have to be right every time. You have to be right one time in three. The winners cover the losses and then some.
First time I ever traded this setup in Tesla, I risked $0.43 and made $2.00. That is 365% on the first trade.
Risked $0.39 on the next one, made a $1.10. Missed two. Risked $0.52 on the next one, made a $1.30.
That is four winners in six trades on the strategy. The product had only been open six weeks.
The strategy trades three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. The last ninety minutes before the close.
You show up, you get the alert, you place the trade. Then you go home. The overnight pressure does the rest.
I have been in this business a long time. Employee number thirteen at Thinkorswim. Fifteen years watching the back end of the trading systems during the biggest volatility events I have ever seen.
I have not seen an edge like this in years. And it is just getting started.
The Superfly replay from a few days ago covers exactly how to identify the setup, how to structure the trade, and how to manage it overnight.
If zero DTE has been killing you, it is because you have been playing the wrong part of the day.
To your success,
Don Kaufman
