Don Kaufman here. Usually I’d be asking you to join me in the chatroom for the pre-market action.

But of course, today’s Memorial Day - the market’s closed and we’re all taking a well-deserved break from the madness. I hope you are, too, whether you’re on vacation or stay-cation, spending time with your family or whatever it is you do to recharge. 

I plan to take a little time today to reflect on the meaning of the day, and why we’re able to enjoy a free market in a free country - why we’re able to take our financial destiny in our own hands. 

Of course, it’s thanks in part to the sacrifices hundreds of thousands of American service members have made for nearly 250 years now. Take a moment to think about that today, whatever else you may be doing.
